And...We're Baaaaack!

A lot has transpired since we've last posted: we bought a house, ran the Richmond Half Marathon, celebrated holidays, and found out Norfolk Southern is relocating us to Atlanta by August. We've also purchased a grill and we have thoroughly enjoyed it since we bought it later last month. It's grillin' season!

We have been very unmotivated and stressed and it was time to shake things up and get back to it. Unfortunately, we had to make a tough decision and leave our beloved XF Box this past week. We also dropped our Planet Fitness membership since that was a backup gym anyway. Lastly, we rejoined the artist formally known as The RAC, Carilion Wellness. It's saving us money and providing us with a great facility we can use at all hours, including pools! They have done extensive renovations and offer new classes and a bigger functional training room, which was where we did much of our BollardWODSquad thing to begin with. It would appear after many unanswered requests, they finally caught on.

And in light of our coming 33rd Birthdays and extreme need for motivation, we decided to take on what I deemed as the "33 Challenge." We have to get our move on for at least 33 minutes everyday for 33 days starting March 29th, but really for more than 33 since we will do so up to (and plan to continue well past) our birthdays. It was a way to surge us back into the lifestyle we have lived and loved but have let excuses, stress, and lack of motivation get in the way.

So here we are - 6 days in *really more like 5* and we have done well.

March 29
Eased into it by walking to and from Grandin on our Sunday Funday.

March 30
K - Ran with Piggy around the block
Both - Bike Ride

March 31
Walk to and from our friends' for an impromptu dinner. We were. Little shy of 33.

April 1
K - Spin Class (they have new bikes!)
C - Lifting

April 2
K - Run 3.88 (slow going) and 2 Rounds of modified KB Gladiator Complexes in the yard
Round 1: 10 KBS @35#
Round 2: 8 KBS + 2 DB Power Cleans @ 15# ea arm
Round 3: 6 KBS + 2 DBPC + 2 Squats @ 15# ea arm
Round 4: 4 KBS + 2 DBPC + 2 Squats + 2 Presses @ 15# ea arm
Round 5: 2 KBS + 2 DBPC + 2 Squats + 2 Presses + 2 Squats
C - Bike Ride

April 3
K - Les Mills GRIT Cardio and 3 min rowing
C - 25 min on the Exercise Bike and Lifting

Here's to feeling healthier and stronger each day.

Kate
Pure Barre PM*last class as my 1 month is up on the 7th
Chad

Tuesday, August 5th

AM Greenway Run
Chad
Walk with Piggy

Thursday, August 7th
Nada, although there was good intention to do something at one point.

Friday, August 8th-6 Year Engagement Anniversary
Met with some of our Red Dawn Rogues for a run. I ran more slowly than normal and it felt good!! I was accompanied by Janet and Alicia while Chad walked with Piggy.

Saturday, August 9th-Microfestivus
Fully intended to do a 3 - 4 mile run, but this stupid rain was a bit much. I could've gone to the RAC and done the elliptical or even run on a treadmill, but alas, I did not.

Sunday, August 10th-Day After Microfestivus
Sleep was very interesting, but hopefully it was a good collective effort from the different pieced-together times.

I ended up doing a makeshift Pure Barre class in our living room sans bar or ball while watching Bar Rescue - Oh, John Taffer! I definitely worked up a sweat and would like to try and maintain some of the moves to help with core, seat, thigh, and overall toning. Eventually, I'd like to get a bar (Lowes!) and a ball (Amazon!) and continue to try and work that in as a supplemental workout to...

CROSSFIT. Yep. We are going to be CrossFitters again starting tomorrow, August 11th at 0530. We will be joined by many good friends and are excited to be back in the grind. I have to say, though, that the following best sums up my feelings about it:

MUST get this t-shirt.

Posts will be Back in the Box after today! Craycray. Here it comes...

August and Everything After

Friday, August 1st
Nothing. I had intended to do something, but did not. Tired!

Saturday, August 2nd
Kate
3.12 Mile Run
Chad
Walk with Piggy due to his nerve/back/leg/foot issues.

We stopped by O'Brien Meats afterwards and picked up some delicious fresh beef, pork, and chicken, bacon, and eggs. What a deal! Then we looked at 5 houses, unfortunately none of them being "it," we are back to the drawing board. Definitely need to keep upping the workouts and must improve the diet as it it has been OOC lately.

Sunday, August 3rd
Hit up the RAC this afternoon as I felt we needed to get moving. We did clean the house this AM, but had a lull in activity, so alas, we went and I'm glad.
Kate
Got this little ditty from Carbyne CrossFit:
1500m row
150 DUs
1.5 mi run
Here are my results including transition and breaks.
Triple 1.5
I also did some work on the Gravitron as well as some moves from Pure Barre for arms and abs for just a little something extra.
Chad
20 min elliptical
500m row
core work
1000m row
Arms.

PS - The RAC has been under major construction and they have just painted a bunch of stuff. Looks nice. Ciao now.

Run in the Sun

It was such a beautiful day, we decided to take Piggy on a quick run and toss the Chuck-It a few times before the Browns started. So glad we did. She was tuckered out!! I didn't wear any equipment or track how long or far or fast, just enjoyed our time out in nature with our Pup at Garst Mill.
